MTN Finally Agrees To Pay $1.7 billion Fine, But In Three Years

 Telecoms giant, MTN has on Friday stated that they would pay up the $1.7 billion fine that was imposed to them by the Nigerian government for refusing to disconnect over 5 million unregistered SIM users.

 In a statement, MTN said "MTN Nigeria has agreed to pay a total cash amount of 330 billion Naira over three years."
 MTN was fined $3.9 billion in 2015, by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), which is one of the biggest fine (in recent times).


 In their statement, they said "MTN is pleased to inform shareholders that the matter has been resolved with the Federal Government of Nigeria."
